چکیده
Of the various synthetic biodegradable polymers, polylactide, poly(butylene succinate), and poly(hydroxyalkanoate) have been widely studied developed. This review focuses on studies of chain end modification these polymers. The selected research was categorized into initiators, modification, including extending, degradation reaction. We cover recent literature this topic, discuss developing trends challenges polylactide (PLA), succinate) (PBS), (PHA) papers were reaction, from viewpoint approaches.

Synthetic Non-Biodegradable Polymers:
Synthetic polymers have been widely used in making various medical devices, such as disposable supplies, implants, drug delivery systems and tissue engineering scaffolds. The advantages of using polymers, as biomaterials, are their manufacturability. Polymers are easy to fabricate into various sizes and shapes compared to metals and ceramics. They are also light in weight and with a wide range ...
متن کاملBiodegradable mesoporous calcium–magnesium silicate-polybutylene succinate scaffolds for osseous tissue engineering
The structural features of bone engineering scaffolds are expected to exhibit osteoinductive behavior and promote cell adhesion, proliferation, and differentiation. In the present study, we employed synthesized ordered mesoporous calcium-magnesium silicate (om-CMS) and polybutylene succinate (PBSu) to develop a novel scaffold with potential applications in osseous tissue engineering. The charac...

This paper reviews biodegradable synthetic polymers focusing on their potential in tissue engineering applications. The major classes of polymers are briefly discussed with regard to synthesis, properties and biodegradability, and known degradation modes and products are indicated based on studies reported in the literature. A vast majority of biodegradable polymers studied belongs to the polye...
متن کاملSynthetic biodegradable polymers as orthopedic devices.
Polymer scientists, working closely with those in the device and medical fields, have made tremendous advances over the past 30 years in the use of synthetic materials in the body. In this article we will focus on properties of biodegradable polymers which make them ideally suited for orthopedic applications where a permanent implant is not desired. The materials with the greatest history of us...
متن کاملBiodegradable polylactide/montmorillonite nanocomposites.
Our continuing research on the preparation, characterization, materials properties, and biodegradability of polylactide (PLA)/organically modified layered silicate (OMLS) nanocomposites has yielded results on PLA/montmorillonite nanocomposites. Montmorillonite (mmt) modified with dimethyldioctadecylammonium cation was used as an OMLS for nanocomposite preparation. The internal structure of nano...
